KickStarting: Comics

by letterstowalterkovacs

This weekly feature by Graphic Policy looks at how much money is raised each week for Comic projects on Kick Starter. It is promising to see self-published comics like ‘Sorcery 101 Omnibus vol 1 of 2’ raising sums as a large as $26,048 and another 10 comics reaching their funding goal. This style of self funded comics breaks down the traditional business model by removing big publishers and placing the power of choice in readers hands. With $138,959 pledged towards independent comic projects in the last month, it looks like I will have  to start reading some kick starter comics myself.
